Recently I have been posed with a question that I am familiar with; more importantly the
question came when I was trying to “witness” or “evangelize” to a loved one, and the question,
or the topic of this article is “How can Christians claim to be the only true way to God? It seems
to me that all the religions lead to the same God.” This article is not meant to belittle, mock or
make fun of the person asking the question. Again, it was a loved one asking me this question,
and seeing as I know the persons history with “organized religion”, it is my prayer and hope that
those of you who are searching for the truth can find the Truth. It is also my hope and prayer that
this article can help you recognize why it is that Christianity is indeed the one true way to the
only one true and real God that is the LORD—Elohim, YAHWEH.
Before I go any further, it should be noted that I was not “raised Christian”. In fact, it has
been less than five years that I have been a Christian. However, please don’t mistake my time as
a Christian, as one of “blissful ignorance” or of “blind-faith”, my walk with Christ has been none
like any other that I have heard from anyone else and I feel incredibly blessed to have the story
and testimony I have with Him. However this is not to exalt myself either, this is meant as an
encouragement to all of you, that you do indeed have a unique story with our Lord and Savior,
and is meant to remind those of you who think that your story is not unique, to please, re-
examine your story and really focus on asking God to give you His perspective on the story.
With that established, let’s go back to the question posed in the first paragraph, now
seeing as there are a few questions in that first paragraph let’s take them one at a time. “How can
Christians claim to be the only ‘true’ way to God?” Well, first off, this answer is going to be
given in light of the “Major Three” in the world of religion. Judaism, Islam, and Christianity;
first, the world of the Jewish faith is literally the Old Testament of the Christian faith, I love my
brothers and sisters in the faith of Judaism, but many of them decline or refuse to acknowledge
the truth that the Messiah did indeed come. Judaism and Christianity are not much different than
each other, Judaism is just waiting for The One that already came and is indeed still at work in
our lives each and every day.
Next, we have the Islamic faith; now while I cannot directly quote any specific parts of
the Qur’an, what I can tell you is that in the first pages of the Qur’an in the English Translation,
“trace” their heritage back to Abraham’s son, Ishmael. However, they have no established or
recollective history of life from Ishmael to Mohammed. Nor does the Qur’an explain the history
of how Abraham came to exist. Does this “debunk” the Islamic faith? Not entirely, but what I
firmly believe to be the climactic part of the religion of Islam, is that they believe in a distant,
impersonal god, whom is not in any way apart of “Allah’s” creation; yet at the same time, they
have no way in identifying how “Allah” came to create the world, or any of the inhabitants of the
world. Now, one other bit of interesting information that I believe to be a part of this, the Islamic
religion claims that “Allah” is the name of “God”. Contrast that with both the Jewish faith, and
the Christian faith (the other two-thirds of the “Major Three”) who say and know that God’s true
name starts with “El”.
It is not in my nature to go with the grain of everyone else, but I am a person of
understanding and do possess some form of intelligence, and what I can tell you, is that there is a
God that does make Himself known and would indeed have a name that is pretty commonly
known. Usually it is the first thing that I introduce myself with, and I am positive that God would
do the same. So right from the start, it would seem to me that Judaism and Christianity have
something that the Islamic religion does not.
Now I am not here to bash the religion of Islam, and I am not writing this to be
disrespectful to anyone, truly it is not my intention, so, if I have upset or offended you, then I
deeply apologize and beg for your forgiveness. However, I would like to share with you some
facts about all of the religions “sacred texts” and from this point on this article is going to be a
point for point for point between Judaism, Christianity and Islam; at the end it is ultimately up to
you to decide for yourself which one you think is most “logical” or speaks to you heart most.
You really cannot sit on the fence with the topic of faith anymore because the world is already
ostracizing Christians for being intolerant of other religions, when in fact “tolerance to other
faiths” is part of the reason why there are so many confused people in the world. And to that I
would say that the majority of the world is just terrified to make the wrong choice and prefers to
be a “bystander” in something that they feel “doesn’t pertain to them”.
When was each “sacred text” written?
Judaism ~1406 BC “The Tanakh (Old Testament) especially the Torah (or the
Pentateuch)—the first five books of the Bible…[the same one as Christianity]” 1 The date given
was when the completion date of when the first five books of the Bible would have been.
Islam ~570-632 AD “The Holy Qur’an…revealed to Muhammed by the angel Gabriel
in Mecca, Arabia…” 2 Just as an observation, this same line—of angels giving books to
people—is the same thing that those of the Mormon faith claim…just sayin’. “Islam affirms that
God sent Moses sent books to Moses [and] David…but Jews and Christians have corrupted the
original texts.” 3
Christianity ~45AD when the first book of the New Testament was written, thing is, prior to
the birth of Jesus Christ, Christians were Jews. It wasn’t until after the resurrection and ascension
of Jesus Christ that the term Christian would have been used.

What is the defining difference between them?
Judaism — The people of the Jewish faith are still waiting for the Messiah to come as
predicted many times in the Old Testament of the Holy Bible.
Islam — The people of Islam consistently refute that Jews and Christians are wrong,
and “Allah…cannot be known…the greatest sin in Islam is shirk, or associating anything with
Allah. Human qualities like fatherhood cannot be attributed to Allah. Based on the Qur’an… [the
people of the Islamic faith]…believe that Christians worship three gods—Allah, Jesus and
Mary—and are therefore guilty of shirk.” 4
Christians —The people of Christianity are believers and followers of Jesus Christ whom is
the Son of God, and is God whom came down to earth in human flesh, born of virgin birth, was
executed on a cross to make atonement for all sin, and reconciled the relationship between God
and man so that all might be saved. He [Jesus] is the predicted Messiah that the people of the
Jewish faith are still waiting for. (While there is a little more to it than this, please let this
description suffice for now.)

Why should I believe Christianity?
Judaism —They believe foundationally the same thing as Christians, they are just still
waiting…
Islam —Denies everything that Jews and Christians believe, purely on the basis that
Jews and Christians are “mistaken”…(Sounds a little like “bigotry” and intolerance, if you ask
me…)
Christians —Along with Judaism, Christianity is the only other religion or faith that offers
the only explanation as to how all of the earth, animals, and people came to exist…it is also the
only religion or faith that says you do not have to figure things out for yourself, because of sin,
and the theological principle of depravity, human beings cannot save themselves from sin,
meaning that a Messiah had to come who was not born of sin, and had to live a sinless life in
order to bring salvation to human beings who were made in the image of God. Along with
Judaism, Christianity is the only religion that can be traced as far back as it does with each step
along the way recorded, factual, and archived.
As I am just a human being like every person reading this article, I have made mistakes in
my life, mistakes that are clearly outlined in the Holy Bible, and those mistakes are called sins.
My sins are so innumerable that I will not disclose all of them, but I will tell you that I am guilty
of the sin of adultery, coveting, and following other “gods”. Now, I am saying all of this to show
that even though I have made these mistakes, I am not perfect, nor will ever be. It is to my great
fortune that I have a loving God who came down from heaven and was born of a sinless, virgin
birth, lived a sinless life that is well documented, and He paid for my sins in the sacrificial
atoning work that He did when dying on the cross. That man was indeed Jesus Christ, and He did
walk this earth, He did pay for my sins and now I aspire to be like Him. Why? Because every
road that people have created to do “good works” only lead down a road to destruction, I can add
nothing to the work of Jesus Christ in atoning for my sins, but what I can do is become more like
Him to glorify my Father in heaven. I know in difficult times, such as poverty, quarreling in the
home, being socially unacceptable—being the weird kid—and in the times that one is picked on
by another, it is easy to think you are alone; but the truth is, you are not. You do have a Great
Comforter closer to you than you think, His name is Jesus and He wants to be apart of those
struggles with you, He wants to help you grow and succeed, all you have to do is accept Him
into your heart.
The question of “Do they all lead to the same God?” still seems to be ringing in my ears.
To that I would have to ask you the experiential question: Have you ever created anything?
Either with Lego’s—which my niece loves by the way—or with Hot Wheels race track kits or
with anything, model cars, paintings, writing a book, writing poetry, some kind of food, literally
I can list anything that human beings create. But, have you ever created something and then said,
“I am not messing with it! Nope, you cannot get me to be a part of it or acknowledge its
existence!” Sounds quite illogical. Let’s put this in another situation.
Let’s say you have a child, and once that child is born, you declare to yourself, “I am not
going to be a part of this child’s life…” Now I don’t mean this in the sense of adoption, or even
abandonment, what I am meaning is, you have a child, a newborn and you take the child to your
dwelling place, or home and then leave them to figure things out on their own and work for their
own survival in your house…and you can never ever participate in helping them, not once. You
cannot feed them, you cannot change their diaper, and you cannot—above all else—love them.
Such a person would be declared maliciously negligent, and if you believe in a “God” like that
then I am here to declare to you, you are following a lie. In fact, this whole scenario that I have
portrayed sounds preposterous! Completely irrational, illogical, unreasonable, in fact the
statements of what I have just made are so unfathomable that even I—as a responsible player in
the life of a child—cannot fully grasp the inhumanity of what I have just written. With “Allah”
as “God” such a thing as love doesn’t compute, render existence, or even have a purpose. To
answer the question of do they all lead to the same God, that’s a strong no. How can I draw that
conclusion? Because such a thing as love is not a human created emotion.
How do I know that such a god as “Allah” doesn’t exist? Because my personally owned
“sacred text” tells me, “For God so loved the world in this way: He [God] gave his one and only
Son so that everyone who believes in him [Jesus] will not perish but have eternal life.” 5 God
must truly love us a lot if He is willing to let His Son die for us.
